For online purchases and to maintain the privacy or our online clients, Research for Better Teaching (RBT) processes credit card purchase through Google Checkout. RBT does not store credit card information on this web site and has NO ACCESS to credit card information provided to Google. When you purchase through Google, all information that you enter is transmitted directly to Google via an encrypted online session.
Email Privacy
When you register with Google Checkout, you have the option to withhold your email from RBT. In this case, should we need to contact you, we will send email through the Google Checkout system which acts as a relay agent. RBT has no access to your email address.
Call In Credit Card Orders
When you call RBT to place and order for a publication or a professional development course and pay by credit card, RBT will store your card information only for the period necessary to complete the purchase transaction. RBT destroys all credit card information using a certified data destruction service.
Tax Policy
RBT is required to collect sales tax for all non tax exempt purchases delivered to addresses within Massachusetts. When making an online purchase for a Massachusetts delivery, our checkout software will automatically add sales tax to the purchase. If the Ship To address is a known school district or a reseller with a tax exempt certificate on file with RBT, the sales tax charge will be removed prior to completing of your order.
RBT is also required to collect taxes for publications delivered to certain localities in California, sale's tax may not be added automatically by our processing software. In this case, RBT will send a separate invoice to the email address registered with Google Checkout for the additional tax.
Shipping Policy
Except for volume purchases, RBT charges 15% of the total cost of the order to cover shipping and handling.
