The School as the Main Site for Teacher Learning
A uniform finding in our conversations with educators these past few months is how the quality of common planning time meetings has improved. We have needed each other more to face the common challenges of online instruction and to get ideas from each other for designing engaging learning experiences for our students. This common need has created a new level of appreciation for the power of collaborative work. As we face the tremendous challenges of re-opening and all its uncertainty, I hope we will cling to this lesson about collaboration and carry it forward.
We can make every school into a reliable engine for continuous learning about High-Expertise Teaching if the leaders work to make it so and our faculty can enter into humble, energetic, and mission-driven learning together. That is how we will get the results for s
