Sue Szachowicz on Being Vulnerable and Strong at the Same Time

The story of Brockton High School's rise begins with an honest confrontation of troubling data and a declaration of the leader's unwillingness to accept it. Another lesson of the story is about starting small and following through to develop a climate of respect (no heads on desks). From this small start she buillds a strong teacher leadership team that develops a comprehensive writing and thinking program that permeates this 4,300 student school.
